Decending 30% Hard Knott Pass in the Lake District UK

Here I am hanging on for dear life, trying to navigate my way down Hard Knott Pass.
The video flattens out the look of the real gradient, but descending this 30%+ hill in the rain & full touring kit took every ounce of strength I had, and even then I still felt out of control !

Fred Whitton it was, plus there was another one which I can't remember the name of. That would have been around 2006 I think.

Nice! Was that the Fred Whitton challenge? It was on the week before I rode that way.
It would be nice to return one day with my racing bike instead of my heavy tourer & give the KOM a go !

Did that several times as part of a sportive several years back - one sportive gave out a commemorative plate for climbing it without putting your foot down. That sits on my shelf as testament to the pain!
