Servicing my Ultegra 6600 Freehub

I've bought a few tools and some sealed bearings and gathered some info in an attempt at stopping the whaling sound my bike makes at speed.

I thought I'd try to document my attempts at fixing things, so here goes...

I took the skewer out and the lock ring off

There was a thin (almost foil) washer under the lockring..

I took the cluster off and here it is spread out.

Picture above shows:  Low spacer; Sprocket Unit (25-23-21); 4th (19); Spacer; 5th (17); Spacer; 6th (16); Spacer; 7th (15); Spacer; 8th (14); 9th (13); 10th (12).

The freehub body is now exposed:

I loosened the nuts on the axle with a standard 17mm spanner (on drive side) and a 13mm cone spanner.

(Trouble adding more photos at this point).

Cheers mate, it's about my pace.

That is a good price for a hi-vis vest. Some AC members have debates with off-spring who do not like nerdy helmets. Guess it is even harder to get children to like vests.

Saw the photo of your tandem solution. Now you need a bright reflective vest for your girl.

I understand that they usually stock the 2 seater tandem. In an email they named an Adelaide cyclist who might allow a test ride of his bike. Without checking the emails, assumed it was the person who took his bike to the Adelaide cargo bike event.

The adult + 2 children tandem is around $3,000 with $50 delivery from Melbourne to Adelaide. Did not get a price on adult + 1 child tandem. Best if you email the company -- I added the website details on the group page. The company offered a discount when I mentioned AC. If you find the Adelaide owner of the bike pictured at the AC Adelaide cargo bike event, could probably organise a test ride first.

Tom, I emailed the Australian distributor of the tandem bike for adult + child(ren). Mentioned that I had seen it at the AC Adelaide Cargo Bike Event and a link to the event on the distributor's website. They then offered a discount on behalf for my friend, if she elects to buy.

Nothing unusual for a few cyclists to head off back to the hills after coffee

I'm pretty sure they always go up hill from Kennsington

Re the CVSA ride. They have a fast group and a slow group, if numbers are high they sometimes have a medium group. Ride starts about 8.10 as far as I know it always starts up hill. The fast group(s) go further but all groups seem to finish at the same time and meet for coffee about 2 hours later.
