Gawler Wheelers Ride Report 18th May 2019

Autumn countryside ride For today’s ride, it was about choosing the distance that best suited you on the day. The rides started from Lyndoch, so there was the opportunity to ride out from Gawler first to add in an extra 25 km in total. The long ride took in Williamstown, Springton, the seven  steps and Angaston for a 81k ride and  948m of climbing. The other ride gave two…See More

Wetter than we had thought. What started out with a very low probability of rain and less than one mm if it did rain, turned out pretty much the opposite. It led to everyone riding to the conditions, and getting back safe and sound. As usual, we had three rides on. The short ride took in Lyndoch, Williamstown, Warren Dam, and Yettie Road for 51 k ride and 641m of climbing.…See More

Gawler Wheelers Ride Report 4th May 2019

Wet but no rain. After a good downpour during the week, Saturday turned out to be great riding weather with 23 riders out. The roads were a bit wet and you needed to watch out for any slippery sections, especially in the cropping areas where the farmers were taking advantage of the rain and get some seeding happening.Again we had three rides on. The first two shared the…See More

Great selection In near perfect Autumn conditions, close to 30 riders turned out for a ride in the hills. The route chosen for the day allowed for turnaround points along the way, depending on the challenge you were after. The furthest  point was Gumeracha at 97 kms and 1,058 m of climbing, with turnaround points at the Warren Dam, 45kms and 450m of climbing, and Birdwood,…See More

Gawler Wheelers Ride Report 23rd March 2019

8 years and still going strong.Today’s ride was a day to celebrate the Gawler Wheelers and how it has grown.Originally established by Frank and Wilson, it has grown to be one of the largest social cycling groups in SA. The success of the group can be put down to the work of Frank and Wilson, who put in place the elements that has kept the group in good stead. The last…See More

Welcome Paul, make sure you join the Gawler Wheelers group. You are member 1858, which is significant because AC has just overtaken (in member numbers) our Victorian counterpart, Melbourne Cyclist.
