Gawler Wheelers Ride Report 1st Dec. 2018

Just windy. It was a day where the wind was the main talking point. The rides coincided with a front coming in,  seeing a shift in direction and headwinds for most of the ride. It was predicted that the change would happen late in the morning, after everyone was back, but unfortunately it came right at the end of the rides, so adding to the challenge. There were two rides…See More

Gawler Wheelers Ride Report 24th November 2018

There and back. With close to cyclone winds last Wednesday evening, many may have looked at the radar, spotted the building clouds and opted not to chance it. In the end, the threatening rains held off and for the 18 that were out, it was a great morning’s ride. The medium ride was out to Hamley Bridge via Templers, returning through Templers, across to Wasleys, then back…See More

Gawler Wheelers Ride Report 17th November 2018

Big day out.Another big day out with the wheelers, with two challenging rides on offer, with 32 riders out.The shorter ride was the steady climb to Kersbrook, before a run across to Williamstown, then back to Gawler. 58kms and 819m of climbing. The longer ride was out to Tanunda, before heading up to Kapunda via Greenock. From there, crossing over to Tarlee and the big…See More

Gawler Wheelers Ride Report 13th October 2018

Spring Classic. With the weather warming up, many people are looking to get out on their bike again, so it was great to see 30 riders out. It looked like a good day for riding, although there was a hint of strong winds later in the morning, but we would see what happens.Again we had two options available. The moderate…See More

Swooped! It’s spring and that’s the time the maggies get active and it’s time of the year we need to be very cautious. Here is Dave delivering the ride brief, including mentioning maggies.…See More

Gawler Wheelers Ride Report 29th September 2018

Chilly start. Given it was a long weekend, the footy final, the start of school holidays plus a cold start, it was great to see 24 out for a ride.Again we had three options. The first was a quick spin down the SOB, 54kms and 159m of climbing. The middle ride was out to Williamstown, up past the Warren Dam along Forreston…See More

Welcome Paul, make sure you join the Gawler Wheelers group. You are member 1858, which is significant because AC has just overtaken (in member numbers) our Victorian counterpart, Melbourne Cyclist.
