Bike Repair Station - Mile End Homemaker Centre

Started this discussion. Last reply by Clive Palfrey Dec 25, 2014. 21 Replies

Of all places, the Mile End Homemaker Centre now has its own bicycle repair station. It's curious, as in my humble, nothing epitomises 'blubberland' (to pinch a term from architecture critic,…Continue

Hi Paul - that could well have been me!

The cargo bike may be the same that you have - a made-in-china job, that Jeremy bought for around $1400 about 3 years ago.

He has upgraded it by putting in a new rear wheel and hub, and a new gearing system, and new brakes. Not sure of the specs - send him a message to ask him! (That's Jeremy Miller, my partner and bicycle lifestyle consultant)

For deliveries in general. I coordinate Adelaide BUG and posted there info about deliveries by cargo bike in some cities. Also sent it on to ACC who responded that they would like this (but how to switch from large truck to small cargo bike?). One city permits very large cargo bikes with more power assist than permitted in Australia. You might like to look for the post, or even join Adelaide BUG.

Paul, ACC are keen to have deliveries by cargo bike to decrease the traffic in in the city. Get back to me if you like. Heather
