I took a MTB with MTB tyres. So I really liked the unsealed roads with few vehicles, peace and much wildlife.

Hi Matt,
Saw your post re Grampians on Maya's page. I have cycled and rough camped in The Grampians three times. Small supported group, so only had to carry one pannier, which makes MTBing much better. We were driven up to the Mt William car park, walked the 2km to the top and back to the car park, then cycled 10km to the bottom. Rode mainly on tracks and away from awful vehicles. While quietly cycling, saw much wildlife and heard many birds. When I had to stop on the steep ascents, said I was looking at orchids and often found one. One descent that was so steep we had to carry our bikes down!
Cheers, Heather

Hey Matt,

I'm heading to Grampians soon and was thinking about taking my bike.  How did you find riding there in October?
