To those on this site who may remember him as the ever-reliable Tail-End-Charlie for the Gawler Wheelers back in their first few years, it is with sadness that I report the passing of Mick Adams last week after a short illness. Mick was one of the reasons why the Wheelers took-off the way they did and he showed me the importance of having someone unflappable and helpful at the pack of a group ride in order to encourage new riders to become regular riders.

He made friends on the bike wherever he went and quite a number of riders down in the South of Adelaide looked forward to his participation in the organised rides down that way. In particular the Pie Ride in support of a mental health charity, a cause he was only too keen to support.

Mick's funeral will be held at 12.30pm on Tuesday the 3rd of March at the Acacia Chapel at Enfield Memorial Park. The family have made this an open service and encourage his friends to attend to show their support.

Farewell Mick. You will be very much missed.
