2020 Tour down under People's ride

I've been looking at the TDU route for the Friday and have to say I'm underwhelmed.I thought the TDU were going to run the event on a Saturday again because, well, what a great route.Nope, not going to happen.Which is sad, because, I have to work on the Friday. Many people have to work on the Friday. Its the Friday before school goes back. So, I think I'm going to do the Saturday route instead on the Saturday, not because I'm a cheapskate. Hopefully my friends will join me.Now to convince them :)See More

To Blackwood - Winns road. From Blackwood - Corromandel parade/Murray's hill

Several years ago when I was newer to cycling I exploited my local knowledge of the area and devised the safest route to and from Blackwood.Okay, "In my humble opinion"Very few other cyclists use it but it would probably cause less aggravation if people did.Basically, riding from Murray's hill road to Blackwood up Diosma drive cyclists are a pita. The climb is steep, there is no where to overtake due to limited vision and traffic coming the other way. Winns road however. Also steep, cars have…See More

"Thanks for the advice. I did enjoy it. That day was a northerly which wasn't quite as nice, but I achieved my aim. The aim was, nice road, quiet road. Which it is. Much better than going into and out of Lobethal."
