Hi Mark. Thanks for the request/invite. What's up? I am negotiating with Terry at the moment about what we are doing this weekend. Looks like I might follow Terry's lead from the weekend just gone - GW on Saturday and Gully Grinders on Sunday. Great hilly route through beautiful country for the GG route on Sunday.
I did want to do the harer route with GW. But after seeing the offering from GG for Sunday Terry has convinved me, I think, to play safe on Saturday and save a few muscles for Sunday.
Lorraine has outed you, in that you regularly cycle through Prospect. This is the requirement to join Prospect BUG (don't have to live in Prospect), which I also coordinate. Both Adelaide BUG and Prospect BUG have an emphasis on cycling advocacy that includes fixing hazards like potholes. So here is an official invite to join Prospect BUG. Lorraine is a member If you join, give me your email address to receive the monthly newsletter. Next week is an informal BUG meeting over coffee, and in September the BUG second anniversary with byo picnic.
Noticed that you posted about hazard of motorbikes illegally in the bicycle lane on Frome Road. The biker obviously knew that he was breaching ARR, trying to get into the travel lane before the police ahead noticed. Unfortunately this is a police matter, or I would suggest to ACC that they rotated cameras around such trouble spots, and recouped the cost from fines. I also see cars illegally stopped in this bicycle lane to pick up passengers.
If you see other hazards like potholes or road design, post on Adelaide BUG for discussion and I may contact ACC.
