I started the AC group Stolen Bicycle Adelaide on 2-Mar-2013. It replaced my earlier group which was unfortunately deleted, so the current webpage has less info. It is worth posting locally the details of your locally stolen bike. However, I recommend also reporting your stolen bike on several websites to spread the word, especially if your unique high-end bike is moved interstate.

Three suggested current websites:
1. The Australian Bike Vault – Stolen Bicycles Australia website is operated by Stolen Bicycles Australia Ltd (SBA). SBA is a non-profit organisation, founded in late 2015 by avid bike riders and former police. – https://www.bikevault.com.auhttps://www.facebook.com/stolenbikesaustralia

2. Bicycles Network Australia. Three ‘housekeeping’ threads, followed by most recent listing of 2-Mar-2018. – https://www.bicycles.net.au/forums/viewforum.php?f=33

3. National Bike Register to combat bicycle theft – posted by Crime Stoppers on 19-Oct-2016 – Crime Stoppers Australia and Data Dot Technology (ASX: DDT) have created a free National Bike Register to combat the growing trend of bicycle theft across the country. A huge increase in the sale of bicycles (market growth of an average of 20% per annum) and the influx of high-end bikes has led to more thefts. – https://www.crimestopperswa.com.au/national-bike-register-combat-bicycle-theft
National Bike Register. The National Bike Register was initiated by Police and developed by Crime Stoppers, DataDot Technology and cycling sponsor Subaru, to combat bike theft in Australia. The National Bike Register provides a secure bicycle and bicycle parts ownership database that can be used by owners and law enforcement to trace ownership for transfers, sales and theft research. – https://www.nationalbikeregister.com.au

These websites have other useful info, for example:
Tracking stolen bikes and preventing theft – by AUbicycles on 21-Aug-2007 – http://www.bicycles.net.au/forums/viewtopic.php?p=28510
Insurance and Cycling: A comprehensive overview – by Christopher Jones on 5-Jun-2014 – https://www.bicycles.net.au/2014/06/insurance-cycling-comprehensive...

Hi all,

Thank you for the welcome. I had my Scott CR1 Pro stolen from racks

behind Telstra building on Pirie St, Wednesday afternoon 28th Jnauary.

The police were involved as security guard was called as the 'robber" (as my kids call him) took off. It looked like this

I don't expect I'll be seeing it again but you never know. It was 2013 model. If anyone sees one in a pawn shop I would be very grateful if you let me know. I still smarting over it.

Kind regards
