I'm just canvassing the possibility of a get-together sometime for AC electric-assistance bike users, and would-be users. A time for swapping yarns (and the bike eqivalent of "big fish" stories) and…Continue

Hi folks , does any one know of any where in Adelaide where a person could rent an E road bike. (not a MTB). Not for myself , I'm asking for a relative coming for the TDU. Thanks for any help.
Sorry - that didn't work! I have 6 pics - pm me with your email address if you'd like to see them... Sam
Further to the mention of an electric-assist Performance 26/20 recumbent below (2/12/2018) I can now provide a few pics...
I'm assisting in the sale of a Performance 20/26 recumbent with Windwrap fairing and electric front wheel (Bafang SWXK/36V). It's a deceased estate and I'm assisting the relatives as they are not bike/ebike literate. The bike is in fairly good (but dusty) condition. It was a daily commuting rider. It's all there apart from the 36v battery which has gone missing. It would just require a soft case Lion/LiPo battery like a Ping or similar to go in the rear bag. There's a suitable 42v/2A charger that comes with the bike as well as the original front wheel (non-assisted). The bike has Avid cable disk brakes. The bike is not quite a 'low racer' but it is definitely quite laidback. Carbon seat (that may need a small repair). Extending boom of course. Just gauging possible interest at this stage as I have no idea of a price - PM me in this sounds interesting. Sam.
Just wondering if any one here has one of these electric bikes...Smartmotion....eUrban. Many thanks
My electic bike helps me ride up hills that for the previous 15 or 20 years I had to walk up. Good fun around the plains. Also some interesting days out when I could have used alternatives. Was very useful for me when there were no trains to Brighton.
Shorter trips for shopping etc, I still use unassisted bikes.
An electric bicycle is a fast and easy way to do lots of "running around" without becoming exhausted or sweaty. An electric bicycle is not an exquisite sports vehicle that tests the limits of human performance. Some people, however, have been known to switch off their battery and use their electric bicycle for exercise.
An electric bike is a kind of powered exoskeleton for the legs. It is a practical machine for going further faster with an incredibly small carbon footprint. It has been said that electric bikes have a smaller carbon footprint than human powered bikes because supplying energy from food is more carbon intensive than electricity. I charge mine from solar panels, I glide through the streets on a sunbeam.
