As he said. Hope to see you there where maybe BB and I can recreate this epic climb photo from two years ago.

Gus, not this year as I will be playing tour guide for a Heritage Walk in Colonel Light Gardens on Sunday morning. Plus I am still recovering from the Delhi-Jaipur belly. If the Australians score more runs in Jaipur tonight than we did, they are certain winners.

Who Photoshopped the smile? I don't recall that!

Just a reminder to my fellow luggers - H'Eroica is on next Sunday (20th October) - see the events page for more details.

If you haven't done these gravel roads before, they are quite steep in places (and a bit squirrely with skinny tyres), so there is no shame in walking your bike. In fact, it will give you even more time to enjoy the serenity!

There are still some tables free for the Bicycle Institute 'Wheels of Fortune' quiz night this Friday. There might just be some vintage bike questions that would see you Le Club Lug guys get ahead.

$15 a head. Form a team of 8 (or so) and book in ASAP. The Bicycle Institute advocates for better and safer cycling in SA.

3 out of 4 of my "roadworthy" bikes are lugged steel.  The one that isn't, the Mongoose (steel, but not lugged), I haven't ridden since I completed the Ebike.  One "good" reason for that is that it sits under the Ebike in the shed, so is too hard to get out.

Among other things on the "to do" list is the restoration of a 1950's BSA "Sports" 3-speed (lugged steel, of course).

In case you miss Mike's post. The Adelaide Community Bicycle Workshop at Plympton are gauging the demand for a vintage bike restoration course.

A big thanks to all those who came out this morning. Great that the rain held off despite a number of prompts from myself. Hope to see you at the Alpe d'Huez night.
