Win a ride to Coast To Coast on Sunday April 3 - enter, it's easy

BikeSA's Coast to Coast is just around the corner with the big ride taking place on Sunday 3 April.

Riders can choose to ride 10, 20, 65, 95 or 120 kilometres all the way from Glenelg to Victor Harbor along South Australia’ most spectacular cycling routes.

BikeSA are offering four free entries. All you need to do is tell everyone your favourite / best cycling tips—or hacks—to win.

Share your best cycling tips in the comments that can help those tackling their first long—or century— ride or tips that help commuting. They could be really, really simple or big picture. From:

  • How to ride a long ride,
  • storing your kit,
  • maintenance,
  • route selection for commuting,
  • carrying stuff
  • wet, windy, hot weather
  • cleaning

The best four tips will be chosen by Bicycle SA on Tuesday 29 March—so you've got Easter to put in your best ideas. Winner receive a free Coast to Coast entry but doesn’t include coach transfers or jersey.

If you can't ride C2C but have a great tip, share it and note you can't ride.

*Judges decision final, cannot be exchanged for money, or switched for another event. Winner must check their emails via this site and contact BikeSA if they are the winner.

My 3 quick tips that have gotten me out of trouble countless numbers of times.

1. Go your own pace. Don't try to chase every train that passes.

2. Drink, drink, drink (fluids, that is). The night before, the morning before, during, and after the ride.

3. Eat well. Make sure you have brekkie!

You don't have to be a super star to ride a long distance -
1: Just believe you can - the majority of the time your mind set is the biggest hurtle. Don't be afraid of pain, don't be afraid of fatigue...just keep going.
2: Eat before you bonk. Food can be as simple as died fruit, nuts, bread and carrot sticks - if that's what your body is used to. Don't rely on supplements.
3. Join a group ride for your first big ride. The moral support and boost that you can get from being with hundreds of others feeling your pain can help loft your spirits and push you just a little further.

So any word on which of us chumps have to go out and pay for our entry?

The judges are getting over their epic ride to Mt Lofty yesterday afternoon on kid's bikes. They'll be with you soon.

Congratulations to the winners as chosen by the BicycleSA judges:

  • David H
  • Code 618
  • Ruddager
  • Anita Smith.

I'll send you a message to your private message inboxes on how to claim it. Have a fun ride.

Thanks to BicycleSA for the prize.

Cheers

Gus
