EVERY comment posted on the next two week's GW Ride Reports go into the draw to win the $25 CAFÉ NOVA voucher. All AC & GW members can enter….no limit on the number of entries!

GW member, Alan Green, at Mera Peak Summit - NEPAL. 6,461m and -15 degrees!

This morning we gave the 44 riders who came along for the GW ride the opportunity to try this or try that!

We held a GW TRI-RIDE, ie three different rides through the Barossa Valley, with the first 30 kms being common to all three routes. We rode to Tanunda together and then the riders made the big decision as to which of three routes they would continue on. They had 59km, 76km and 92km options to choose from.

The ride conditions were near perfect again. Nice cool temp, minimal wind factor and a protective cloud cover for most of the incident free rides.

We call this section of our AC post a “ride summary” because the GW ride experience is best described by those who rode with us. So, keep tuning in over the next few days as the riders tell us about their ride.

We will tell you now that the feed-back after the rides today was again extremely positive. THANK YOU to everyone who rode with us today…you are a killer group to kick start the weekend with!

NEXT WEEK: We head back to the hills. We will be holding a BEGINNER HILLS ride and a harder HILLS ride. Full details will be posted on AC Events and YOU are welcome to join us.

To assist all of the newbies we continue with our CYCLING TIPS. This week we focus on:

Here is a pic of Craig's "black n blue legs". The other one is the same. better tell everyone what you had done...and why.

I had varcious veins removed from both legs as they were causing me some pain in my knees. The veins were letting blood go the wrong way which was causing the swelling also.

hi guys good to see all having fun as usual.Well i am still restricted to my trainer roll on Feb. I will be joining you for the lunch ( so hopefully i get voucher) Stay safe and see you in a couple of weeks

Hi Scott. You are definately in the draw...every comment = one entry.

Look forward to having a beer with you at the lunch.

Brilliant choice of beer there Frank  ( Dogfish Head  ) shame we can not get it here in Aust.  :(

You must like your beer's new to me.

yep  love my Beers   ( especially Craft Brews )

I am doing a ride with a mate on Saturday arvo as a fitness challenge between us

From his place to the Wheaty for a butcher of a craft brew  ( looser buy's the beer )  and back again    only a short ride  about 25K  I think

yep will be having a cold one with you no trainer that weekend birthday part saturday wheelers lunch sunday and nip to pub to see final v8 race sunday arvo

Looks like you've had better westher up Morth than Scott and I. We are at Mt Gambier for a 160k handicap race that Scott started in yesterday. Unfortunately a lack of training due to recent work at Viterra left him unprepared and he abondoned at 44k. The weather was atrocious and VERY with wind, rain and hail. In the end of the 90 starters probably half the field had also abandoned.
Today, is Kermese racing around the Blue Lake. Each lap is about 3.9k and like a Criterium is run on a time limit for Grades plus 2 laps. The difference here is, it has a hill where Crits are normally a flatter profile.
I did the distance in C Grade but struggled with the hill but!
Scott is about to start in the Open State Kermese Championship race. His main aim is to gain experience a fast paced event and hopefully make the 1hr, 40 minutes +2 laps distance or something like 22 laps. Good luck mate. There are world champions in the line up today and a full SASI team.

Warren, thanks for the report and well done on having a go in a tough eevnt.

Scott, the State Open Kermese Championships >>

Leanne enjoyed the Gear Up Girl river ride this morning. I also saw Vanessa (and Andrea in the distance at the start I think) on the beach ride and Tash on the hills ride. Here's a photo of Leanne before the start.

Well done to Leanne! Here is the pic Scott.
