THE INNER CHIMP >>> Gawler Wheelers Group Ride Report: Saturday November 30th 2013

Rides 1 &2 : GW-ROUTE44-Gawler-SOB-Craigmore-Black Top-One Tree Hill-Gawler-BEGINNER HILLS

Rides 3 & 4: Gawler Wheelers-ROUTE61-Gawler-Kersbrook-Cudlee Creek-Lobethal-Lenswood-Cudlee Creek-Kersbrook-Gawler-HILLS

No. of Riders : 52

Last week we had had three undulating rides to choose from. This week 52 riders said good-bye to Spring with a choice of 4 GW Hills rides.

One group headed off on a nice and easy 42km Beginner hills ride. Another group, who were looking for more of a challenge, rode the same route in reverse ie an Intermediate hills ride.  Not long rides but most enjoyable. We got back to Café Farina’s at around 10.00am and spent the next couple of hours chatting and watching the Conquer Cancer cyclists ride past.

Concurrently two other groups had headed off on a much tougher 93km Hills ride. One group rode at a rapid pace and the other at a moderate pace. They all arrived back around lunch time. When they got home two things were clearly evident: (1) they were stuffed! and (2) they had experienced a most satisfying ride.

The riding conditions were ideal this morning and we thank all who took advantage of them to ride with Gawler Wheelers. More in-depth salacious details of today’s rides will be posted over the coming days!

NEXT WEEK: We all get back together for one big FLAT ride GW group hug!Details will be posted on AC Events and YOU are welcome to join us.

This week’s GW CYCLING TIPS for newbies is about MOTIVATION. We've all woken up on a Saturday and thought, 'I might give cycling a miss today'. "It's going to rain, it's too cold, too hot and I've been working hard all week.” Limitless Performance - The Inner Chimp is a light-hearted cycling film based on the mental struggles we go through every time we cycle.

nice Garmin stats indeed, but that mystery rider has an even better looking leg.. !

i'll get around to the video a bit later on.
AM have to explain the above comment re the leg??

Bradley Wiggins - TDF 2012

just admiring the superb muscle tone of the mystery Garmin rider.

OK!!!!! So who does the leg belong to????

PS >>> The muscle tone is very noticeable.....although IMHO not quite as good as...(stand to be corrected):

If we apply a little logic to this mystery, we would deduce that the rider in question rode with the fast hills group and if you look at his nicks they are LOOK brand. A close viewing of the video of that ride will reveal the identity of the owner of the legs. Take a LOOK!

Yep, just as I said earlier...

Yeah D-shackle...but it is the week-end and I don't like to think too hard on the week-ends!

Seeing you are all so good on using logic to solve things...can anyone tell me what should go in the box with the question mark???

Reasoning Scott?....for the benefit of others

Every row seems to have one each of square, circle and triangle head; rectangle, ellipse and stick body; up, straight and down arms. Option (b) completes the third row in the same theme.

The possible solutions differ by head shape (square, round) and arm position (up, down, level)

So, each row has figures with each head shape and each arm position. What is missing in row 3?

Answer: square head, arms down ie (b)

For those that like a puzzle that requires logic to solve, try this.

There are 5 houses each with a different color. Their owners, each with a unique heritage, drinks a certain type of beverage, smokes a certain brand of cigarette, and keeps a certain variety of pet. None of the owners have the same variety of pet, smoke the same brand of cigarette or drink the same beverage.

  • The Brit lives in the red house.
  • The Swede keeps dogs as pets.
  • The Dane drinks tea.
  • Looking from in front, the green house is just to the left of the white house.
  • The green house's owner drinks coffee.
  • The person who smokes Pall Malls raises birds.
  • The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill.
  • The man living in the center house drinks milk.
  • The Norwegian lives in the leftmost house.
  • The man who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps cats.
  • The man who keeps a horse lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill.
  • The owner who smokes Bluemasters also drinks beer.
  • The German smokes Prince.
  • The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
  • The man who smokes Blends has a neighbor who drinks water.

Who owns the pet fish?
