The Eyre Highway is expected to be closed for several hours following a fatal crash near Nullarbor on the State's far west coast.
Just after 9am on Wednesday 25-Dec-2019, emergency services were called after reports of a crash between a truck and a cyclist on the Eyre Highway, about 10km west of the Nullarbor Roadhouse.
The cyclist, a 57yo man from QLD, died at the scene.
The Eyre Hwy remains closed to all traffic, with WA police patrols stopping cars travelling east from Eucla and SA Police stopping cars travelling west at the Nullarbor Roadhouse.
These traffic restrictions will remain in place for several hours.
Major Crash Investigation Officers attended from Adelaide to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
There have now been 107 lives lost on our State’s roads this year compared with 75 at the same time last year.
Sad news. An awful end to a touring holiday.
