Hi All,

Grew up in Adelaide but never cycled there.

Whats the best route from Crafers to Blackwood to Mitcham?

Google Maps is suggesting as follows:

Mt Lofty Summit Road, Waverley Ridge Road, Sheoak Road, Saddle Hill Road, The Valley Drive, Creek Road, Upper Sturt Road then Lavery Road to Main Road.

This will be done in the middle of a week day (this coming Friday)

From Blackwood is it best to drop down Belair Road? Have driven it hundreds of times but can’t picture cyclists on it.

Many thanks and happy cycling

Thanks but I probably feel better using the dedicated bike path that spits you out at Springbank Road. Have you used this?

Is this how most cyclists ascend to Belair?

I'll use the Lynton/Belair track to ascend (ride MTB), it does have a section over 20% or at 20% for 200 to 300 metres or so. To come down, my preferred is through Belair NP and exiting by Sir Edwin Avenue to the bottom of Sheoak Rd. Then use James Road and Old Belair Road, taking the lane for a lot of it. Too much braking down the shared-use path for me. Likewise down the steepest section of Sheoak Rd.
