Among the buzz of a big crowd and lots of riders at Woodside yesterday with the start of the day's TDU race, there was a small short ceremony to officially open one of the missing links of the Amy Gillett Bikeway.  It means that riders are no longer forced onto the main road as we enter Woodside from the south.  The route still keeps us close to the cafes, bakery and shops.

Mary Safe (Amy's mother) cut the ribbon as we heard that the TDU coming to town put smiles on a lot of local faces for the first time since the fires came through.

Funding and political will to complete the long planned northern sections of the Bikeway is on the wish list of all of us that attended.
