ACC meeting of 10-Feb-2015, minutes on pages 4 - 6, 11.
ACC made successful grant applications for the 2014-2015 State Bicycle Fund Projects for two shared paths:
• Shared use path in Kangatilla (Park 4) that runs adjacent to Barton Terrace East between O’Connell Street and LeFevre Terrace, and forms part of the future north-south Frome Bikeway linking to Prospect Road and Braund Road BikeDirect routes ($50K).
• Shared use path in Kurangga (Park 20) that runs adjacent to South Terrace between Peacock Road and Unley Road, and forms part of the shared path network linking Mike Turtur Bikeway at King William Street / South Terrace to the Frome Bikeway ($50K).
ACC survey parklands shared walking and cycling paths
Council is seeking your thoughts, ideas and comments on a proposed shared use walking and cycling paths in the Park Lands. The paths will create an accessible route for people who walk or ride bikes through North Adelaide and South Park Lands areas, and increase opportunities for residents to enjoy active recreation pursuits in a natural setting.
Kangatilla (Park 4)
The proposed path for Park 4 will form the final part of a local neighbourhood walking and cycling loop through Parks 4 and 5, connecting directly to the North East Park Lands Activity Hub. The path will also connect with existing and planned safe cycling bike-ways routes, including the Braund Road Bike-way to Prospect, the Park Lands Trail and the north-south Frome Bike-way. Wita Wirra (Park 18), Pityarilla (Park 19) and Kurangga (Park 20)
