The Dirty Dozen Climb we've carefully avoided till now ...
Riding from Golden Grove we will ride to and up Norton Summit via Woodland Way. Then we can kick back and just ride a normal Marble Hill and descend Montecute Rd. crossing the Torrens at Silkes Rd bike bridge and the a normal return up Ladywood to Prices.
If you would like to come along and don't want to take a shot at the hard climb, the normal New Norton Rd climb is fine, we can regroup at the township.
approx 53km with approx 1050m total climbing
Please indicate your intention to ride by making your RSVP on the right of this page.
Please try to install the map to your Garmin GPS or like device, it does make the ride a bit easier if all people know where we are going. No GPS? Then please have a careful look at the route prior to the ride. (Read the map)
We will re-group a few times and usually will have an experienced Lanterne Rouge rider helping the Autobus make it back. On this ride there are several Escape Route shortcuts available if you're struggling - just ask
This is a challenging but social group ride, all are welcome to join but this ride is not intended or suited for hills newbies or even really lumpy old dudes that should know better.
The Gully Grinders Group info is here
You ride at your own risk. All riders are expected to use a roadworthy and reliable bike and abide by normal group ride courtesy and safety. You must carry a bidon of Water, a Spare tube, a tyre lever and a pump and anything else you might need to complete the ride alone.
