I have a Surly Cross Check which comes out of the box with a 700 x 32 tyre. Whilst it is a reasonable tyre I am looking to upgrade to a Schwalbe tyre which I have only been able to find in 35mm. The LBS sales guy said it would be fine on the rim but I would like to have some confirmation of that as they are certainly not cheap.
I would appreciate the advice from those in the group

Hi Mike
I am running Schwalbe Marathons 700 x 35 (kevlar belted) on Araya 700 PX-45 rims on my Avanti touring bike.
While not identical to the Surlys set-up by any means, these are excellent wheels with a really good tyre on them. Hard wearing, no flats yet and really like the reflective side wall...
Cheers

Mike,
I've got a Long Haul Trucker with Alex Adventurer rims running 700 x 35 Schwalbe Marathon Supremes. Assuming you have the standard Alex DA16 rims on your Cross Check your rims are 2mm narrower than mine. I see no reason why 35mm tyres would not work nicely.
