The "Every Second Counts" challenge has started - day 5

We are now on day 5 of the challenge and i'm off to a solid start, 567 km's in 4 days while resting on day 5, that's 30% of the total 1,788 km's of the challenge.  Although the challenge is to ride this, starting on the 23rd of July and to complete it by the 22nd of August I would like to, if it is in me, to finish it on the 11th of August! That's going to be tough! Why the 11th of August you might ask, well, looking back through my Strava account it shows that to be the day in 2011 I rode 13km, the first ride since I was 14 years old. To complete this challenge on my first anniversary of riding would mean so much to me. Can I do it, I don't know, I certainly should complete the challenge but in the short time frame, only time will tell!

First Shot Across the Bow of the Challenge

I was up at 4am Monday morning on the 23rd of July as planned. I was on my bike and starting my ride at 4:28am all rugged up expecting a cold morning.
