Dear Members of AC,
A couple of you have asked how the bottle of Red came to be in my drink holder... So I thought I would send this out and then you can all find out at once!
I rode in the TDU & Ride Like Crazy in Jan 2011.. I used these events to raise funds for my daughters' school. The school community and a local church help me to raise $650 which was then used to purchase sporting equipment for their new Gymnasium. A further $100 was donated to Cancer Council.
I was given this Red via a friend.. who happened to know I loved it.. '2007 Tempranillo~ Bird in Hand Winery'.
I rode to collect some funds raised and as it was only around the corner, I didn't take a bag. He gave me the wine that day.
The safest way for me to carry it home was for me to put it in the drink holder ..it's now in my Cellar! :-)
Thinking it was funny I took a few photos!
Perfect for my profile picture don't you think!?
Regards to all,
Sasha

Comment by Patrick O'Kane on November 14, 2011 at 21:03 I'd have drunk that before I got home.

I suppose now wine comes in screw tops it is a lot more practical.
It seems if you need somebody to help you open it there would be plenty of volunteers.
Screw tops are the best way to cap a wine bottle far better than a cork!
Didn't realise this would provoke a discussion on 'bottling' ;) LOL
2 of my favourite subjects: Cycling and Wine!
Comment by Kathryn H on November 19, 2011 at 19:27 i always wondered whether the water bottle carriers would be ok as we cycle pass the odd winery Especially Adelaide Hills :)
