North west Tasmania - - Thursday group ride.

I reckon that after today's group ride, our Thursday's "Glam" ride members can all claim some sort of KoM and QoM ! !  We started in the small coastal town of Penguin, then straight into the hills, through Rianna into the steep climb in and out of Gunns Plains.  Climbing out of GP, through another range then a steep drop down into Ulverstone. No rest there, as we then rode back to Penguin via the twisting, undulating coast road.  A total of 65 km, and around 600 metres above sea level for the peak. Of course there were many slightly lesser climbs along the way, some more than 5 km long, often with a less than ideal surface.  Our average speed was just over 23 kph which I think is amazing for us vets - - male and female.

We have several riders over 70 years of age ( including myself ) in this group, and the average age would be around mid fifties.

Come over to Tasmania and bring your bike !

Will decline your invite -- I would not be able to keep up with the vets. :)

Heather, our Glam ride is so called, as the majority of riders in this group are female. We would be quite happy to pause for a regroup for you !

One day Terry I'll get over to Tassie and I'll bring my bike.

There are some great rides here, and without the hassles that you seem to get exposed to in SA.
