An acquaintance who used to live in the same street, and now lives a few blocks away, knows we have an old Rover, and he had heard me talk about riding a BSA. We have mutual friends who are members of Longriders (Christian Motorcyclist group).
This neighbour asked if I had any old bikes hanging around at our place in the hills where our P4 Rover is stored.
I said, "Yes. I've got a mid 50's BSA (beeza) that I would like to restore one day."
" A Bantam, Or what?"
"No, a pushbike!"
"But when I heard you talking about riding your BSA, I thought you were talking about a motorbike."
"And you never noticed that the pushbike you saw me riding every day for years was a BSA?"
"No."
I saw a BMW pushbike at Cibo's yesterday, looked like a work of art with wheels, beautiful in an odd sort of way.
Comment by RD6 on February 12, 2012 at 8:42 yeah that BMW road bike was something out of the blue, at least the owner has bagging rights " I own a BMW "
Comment by Jason Jones on February 13, 2012 at 13:37 David, do you have a picture of the mid 50's Beeza? Andrew.
I too have an early Beeza "waiting" restore...
@Lantern Rouge. No, not yet. The bike was given to me by one of the then staff at Glenelg Cycles when they were in Partridge St., because he knew that I regularly rode a (somewhat modified) BSA. The front forks were bent something shocking, but they may be able to be straightened (i.e. given the correct bend!).
