Cycled yesterday to Mawson Lakes from my home in Magill (and back) for a ride with a friend on our MtBikes. Fantastic ride of about 45Km, a loop that saw us on the Dry Creek path for the first section - really nice. I ended up on 81Km for the day, a record for me on the MtBike.
When I got home and inspected the GPS log on Strava I noticed that we had come very close to the Torrens Linear Park and I figured that it should be possible to cycle from Magill where I live out to Mawson Lakes via bike/shared paths pretty much most of the way.
It's about 24Km depending and I'll be sure to try the route next time!

Comment by Jilden on October 17, 2012 at 19:51 Mmm I've ridden all of that route at various times, except for all of the 4th creek trail from Morialta down to the Torrens. How connected is that track?
I do like the Dry Creek trails though, my favourite kind of riding.
Comment by rossmg on October 18, 2012 at 21:15 The Fourth Creek Trail is connected basically all the way to Morialta Park. Very little mixing it with the cars and the sections that do put you back on the road are mostly very quiet back streets.
Comment by Jilden on October 21, 2012 at 20:56 I'll put it on the To Do list then. Today I did the sections of the Glen Osmond Creek drain that have been covered and converted to bike trails. Short but pleasant.
Comment by rossmg on October 23, 2012 at 16:33 Glen Osmond Creek? Interesting - I'll be sure to check it out.
Cycled from home to the Dry Creek Trail today but not onto Mawson Lakes - U-bolted and rode into North Adelaide. Nice ride :-)
