Felt like going for a long ride through the hills this morning so decided that I would head up North East Road through Chain Of Ponds (nice fast cornering decents and good photo opportunity near the lake).

Also along North East Road before Gumeracha I reckon these two deserved this photo.

Some of the climbs heading to Gumeracha were a tad tough but soon made it to Gumeracha were I rested for a few minutes before continuing to Lobethal. The route to Lobethal was mostly undulating not the most steepest climbs but not the easiest either. It was about a 10km ride there. Made it to Lobethal and had a break at the Bakery on the main street, topping up my bottles and having a quick bite to eat. Once I had finished this I continued on towards Norton Summit.

Continued down the main street were the sign pointed me in the right direction but after reading "Norton Summit - 21" I stopped and sucked down a GU gel. The ride to Norton Summit out of the whole ride had to be the hardest yet. It was mainly up hill but was relieved to find some really nice fast/flowing downhill with lots of corners (What I have been after for a while now). The roads stayed like this for a few kilometers until I almost reacher Ashtone where the roads just went up and up for about 6km. Reached Ashton and was relieved to find another decent which was the final decent towards Norton Summit!

Finally made it to Norton were I quickly popped into the Hotel to refill my water bottle then I was on my way once more. Decided to take Old Norton Summit Road this time to see what that was like and was greeted with a very fast decent hitting 74km! That was a nice rush! Finished off home just spinning.

All in all another great ride. 78km with an average of 24.3km/h. Definately doing this one again, well worth it! :D

How was the ride up Nth East from the TTG hotel, I've always found the road narrow and the traffic busy and fast.

Not to bad surprisngly. Being a work day most people were heading down not up so only passed by a few cars and trucks, but they mostly went around me which was good.

Well done Alex. Thanks for posting again. You are a bit coy about your cycling abilities despite your young age. Keep on working and you'll be pro before you're 20.
