I finally did GS3 today, solo. Barry was due to ride with me but is down with some kind of terrible fever, it could even be Man Flu.

Departed Williamstown at 09.30 and really enjoyed the 20 odd kms to Gawler thinking how good is this. Gawler to Kersbrook via One Tree Hill Rd and Humbug Scrub argh, a long long up hill stretch. Near the top of One tree hill road and near Alexander Ave I got swooped for the first time this season by a very persistant Magpie. Nice long downhill to Kersbrook and top speed for the day 70km.

Slight head wind to Williamstown, hoping it will be a tail wind on the way back. Ther corner cafe and bakery in Williamstown make the best Cornish pasties ever.

Back to Kersbrook and on to Chain of Ponds, not much tail wind and slight drizzle. Up to Gumeracha and it's starting to hurt. Soy up and go and a banana at the top shop, always nice people working there. On to Birdwood and Mt Pleasent every little assent hurts, every little descent is too little. The two or three small assents out of Mount Pleasent are hurting badly but it's only 20km to go. Now it's raining steadily and lights fading, if I was a cricketer I'd be going home. That last 4km downhill into Williamstown is fantastic even though my hands and feet are freezing.

My first decent ride in ten weeks and I got aches and pains everywhere, hope those Gawler Wheelers are nice to me tomorrow.

Well done Clive, that's a big ride solo,  GS4 next ?

If you were a cricketer, which side would you bat for?

Great effort Clive. Truly wished I was there with you, and will also miss Gawler Wheelers. You were right, I think it was the worst manfever ever !!!!! lol

Unfortunately I may be doing GS4 solo as my brother will be in Adelaide that w/end and as I haven't seen him for 20 years and never met his partner I could be in trouble if i ride. I'm thinking this might contravene one of the rules, good job i'm not Catholic I might get ex communicated.

well done Clive. And you did a day-after-ride as well.

Any energy left for Tweed tomorrow?!!

I will not be able to do GS5 on the scheduled day - I'll keep in touch in case you're in the same predicament.

Had to ride today Peter otherwise I find that evrything just tightens up if you sit around the next day. See you at Tweed on Sunday. I might go to cyclecross (spectator) about 10ish then Bocelli for pre Tweed coffee 11ish, and a couple of Boags at the Wheatie post Tweed.
