Just over twelve months ago I had a brief conversation with Ashleigh Moore in regards to doing some type of promo design/ manufacture to help promote CVSA. I explained to Ash that I had this wizz bang CNC woodwork machine that I play with as my "other" hobby. Long story short the outcome was that he mentioned a bike rack design he had seen in a shop somewhere and I should have a go at designing / building something similar. Unfortunately my spare time over the ensuing months was sucked up by, 1) Building a new house 2) My other hobby, cycling. However, through sacrifice and hard work I finally finished my new shed and moved all toys into place in DEC. 2011. I had developed a CAD model of the bike rack a while back and in this final week of my annual leave I found time to start on building a prototype. It's still in a development stage and the construction is from painted MDF, final build will be of solid timber and aluminium / plastic, carbon fibre is also in the mix but only for bling factor. Even at this point it's remarkable stable and strong and you can back pedal the bike to oil the chain.
Big shout out to Ashleigh Moore, picture this in yellow and black with CVSA signage.

I am associated with the sheetmetal fabrication side, i can provide you with info re laser cutting out of the top piece to save you time & money for multiple units, looks great, should be proud of achievement

Comment by Tiny Avenger on January 6, 2012 at 7:31 Beautiful. Are you sure its a bike rack though? It looks much too pretty - almost like you shouldn't touch the bike once its in there!
