Dooring, stalking pro's and dehydration

Well where to start. i set for an easy run to outer harbor and back. in my rush to get out the door after my wife got home i forgot to put sunscreen on...i look like a top deck chocolate now! =-(

once i hit Glenelg there was a hive of activity from the Big Red Ride. i continued down military road where i saw some katusha riders...i thought what other chance am i going to get so i sped up a little and jumped on there wheel...well i stayed about 2 metres behind and when one of them turned to look behind him i realised it was OSCAR FRIERE! awesome!!! absolute buzz! as i rode further down towards semaphore i saw more and more pro teams, astana, Omega, pharma, the one starting with a V and Katusha.

i made it to OH in record time (for me) then coped a head wind... i darted down old port road where the traffic was nice and light. i saw a white ute with a trailer pull ahead and parked, in the bike lane, which he is allowed to do i know, near the office works building and just got a bad feeling that he was just gonna fling his door open and just as i approached his rear bumper that is exactly what happened!!! i had already taken action and was sitting well wide of the car and proceeded to give the guy an abolute ear full! cant remember if he barked anything back but bloody hell it scared the crap outta me!

on my way back from OH i also ran out of water in my stupidity only packing one bideon. dumb dumb dumb move trent. the heat, distance and effort really got to me later in the ride.

i travelled through the city, past the tour villiage, down king william road and on to greenhill where i met up with TIM ROE, at least i think it was. as i stalked him for a while before he turned off i caught a rider in a genesis wealth advisers kit.

for spotto it was a great day but i was far to eger to get out on the road and let myself down.

dooring has become a hot issue once again and please please please take care out there everyone. assume every car is going to open their door. if i didnt heed my gut feeling i would be toast. i know that i am telling most people stuff they already know but dont underestimate the effects of dehydration. take time when you are getting ready to go out for a ride and make sure you have taken all precautions (including sunscreen)

keep safe out there everyone
