Just wanted to let you know about a project I am putting together following recent life events!
I was diagnosed late last year with a rare condition, called Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension, the cardiologist giving me 5-10 years to go without intervention. I needed major surgery to remove clots from my lungs, done in Melbourne. Following the successful surgery and having done a lot of research, this got me thinking about doing something to help raise awareness and maybe some much needed funds for more education about this condition and for the unit involved. I am coming up with a route plan for me and maybe a few others to ride from Flinders Medical Centre to The Alfred in Melbourne, via various stops along the way hoping to spread awareness at a few regional hospitals.
The ride will hopefully be in March/April next year, all continuing to go well with my recovery of course!
I have set up a funding page, https://www.gofundme.com/kevinanderson, any donations will go towards the costs involved in the trip and also hopefully enough to make donation to The Alfred Foundation
Anyone interested in sponsorship of any kind, in terms of logisitics, equipment, food, accomodation or anything that could go towards allowing this to go ahead can contact me directly through this site.
You can keep up to date with my progress through the blog https://chameleonphotographyblog.wordpress.com/
Any help, however small would be appreciated to help others in the future that hopefully will live with the correct and timely diagnosis and successful treatment.
Obviously any publicity/article about this would help I am sure!. Let me know if you need further info.
