Set out this morning like Baloo the Bear (with only the simple bare necessities) - up the hill to join the Wednesday Wheelers (Bike SA) group. Met at Belair Rwy Stn. Off through Belair NP via Queen Jubilee Drive and on to Crafers. Wound down to Hahndorf for a kransky lunch. Managed a visit to the Hahndorf Academy to view the "Oratunga: into the landscape" exhibition.
Ride to Mylor via River Rd - the WW are heading back to Belair. The day was too nice for me, so a quick goodbye and let them know I'm riding on. Up Silver Lake Rd (no through), take the Crossing Rd firetrack (wheel bike up the steep rocky slope) to Lamont Rd. Left onto the Mt Bold Rd/Dorset Vale Rd loop into Scott Creek NP. Stopped to eat my apple, and go for a bit of a bushwalk. Didn't have my headlight, so didn't wander into the Eys mining tunnel - next time. Up, up, then left into Frith Rd. Over summer I've ridden along all other roads that skirt Mt Bold Res. Res. - this completes the circuit.
As about to descend on the unsealed road, a car slowly catches up. I give a friendly wave as it passes, and it promptly stops. Passenger window winds down, and passenger leans out - I stop next to her. Well, they're like the Indians in F Troop (We're the Hek-ar-we). They want to get home to Morphett Vale. I amiably tell them where to go. They're most grateful, and wish me happiness on my ride. Chalk a browny point up for cyclists. Down and up to Potter Rd, and left to Claro. Don't want to stop at one good deed, so go into bakery and buy a Bad Thing (so someone else is not obliged to eat it). Finish that - have another Bad Thing? Why not - summer's gone, it's aw-tum.
Trundle up the hill and head for home along Main Rd with it's marvellous views.

Don't take all the bad things though, I might have wanted that one.
