Over the next few weeks I will be adding photos and information on Astir titanium bicycle frames, designed and developed here in Adelaide, South Australia.
Below are photos of the Classic model. Inspiration came from my years as a child when I had the chance to ride a '1935 Bismarck', a 30 kg behemoth that the German Army left behind in occupied Greece, and raced in Europe as a teenager on Peugeot, Orbea and Mercier bicycles. All of steel bicycles, some with aluminum components. Funnily enough they all had a race weight of about 9.5 - 10.5 kg. Something a lot of today's carbon riders have not experienced :)
Lucky enough, Astir frames are made out of titanium and the finish weight of the Classic can be from 7.6 kg pending component selection. I love steel bicycles and have a few different brands. All have their better sides, and I cannot say I like one more that another, however the best one is the one that makes you go out and ride :)
