How good was Sunday's weather for cycling. Mild, still and if you were a part of Gear Up Girl, or just out for a ride, it's days like Sunday that remind us Adelaide is s great place to ride and it's no wonder there are now 2000 members on the website.

Christmas Party

Sunday December 11 is the day for the Christmas party. This year, like past years, it's all about coming along, meeting old and new friends and sharing a drink and a laugh. The party is at the Daniel O'Connell Hotel, Tynte St, North Adelaide from 5pm. There might be a few giveaways and member bonuses. Don't be shy, come on down. RSVP or find out more here.

VeloAdelaide
Early bird registrations are now open for the inaugural VeloAdelaide one-day festival of cycling on Sunday 18 March 2012. Starting and finishing in the CBD, you can ride the Mt. Lofty Challenge – Get Sponsored for The Smith Family with options to ride 80km, 60km, 50km or 30km. With over 35 km of closed Hills roads, including riding up the South Eastern Freeway, including the Heysen Tunnel, exclusively closed to traffic.

Until 16 December sign up for the early-bird price of only $50 (first 1,000 registrations only). The full price will be $65 for members and $80 for non-members; so get in quick to secure your place. Find out more and register here.

Bike Art Adelaide

Bike Art Adelaide is an event that explores celebrates everything bike and is on during the Santos Tour Down Under, in January 2012.

Bicycle-themed street art in the City’s East End, including 'Yarn bombing' and bicycle-themed gallery exhibitions. A display of fashion and vintage-style knitwear made using retro-reflective yarn, a bicycle film night, video art screened on buildings in the East End using Carlew Youth Centre’s ‘Projector Bike’ and much more. Fresh drinking water map

Member Don Nairn suggested that as summer comes on it'd be good to have a map of places to refill your bidons and here it is. It's a crowd-sourced map so everyone can add locations to share information for others.

Adelaide Cyclists t-shirts - the logo one and Cat6 Champion - are in stock and make a great Christmas pressie to yourself or an excellent suggestion to someone else to get for you. Also now available are Cat6 Champion messenger bag, coffee mug, iPhone covers and the always popular I Bike ADL t-shirt. If you want these under the tree for Christmas you do need to order now.

Jerseys are now finished for this season. The second round of orders will be arriving as you read this. If you missed out there are a few spares available as well as a very limited number of bib knicks. Check the jerseys page from later today when I've sorted out what stock there is. There are also still a few at The Bike Station, Brighton. Grab 'em now for Christmas and ditch the old event jerseys.
