Do a few more longer rides and see how you fare in a few months. There is a bit of conditioning needed if your posterior isn't accustomed to the longer rides.

Good knicks and Aussie Butt cream help, also HTFU perhaps. That wasn't meant to be flippant Shav, it may take longer for your butt and saddle to become friends.
Saddle choice is huge and can make a ride comfortable or sheer hell. I changed saddles and the new saddle was the worst experience I've had on a bike, it nearly kiled me. Finding a shop with lots of test saddles available for a trial is the answer.

You should have given Noel that on the fly feedback today!! You might have got a free saddle .....or at the least some free butt cream!

Pretty much that. I find it reduces sweating too.
I'm sure there are similar things you can use. There was a thread a while ago on the subject.
Someone who shall remain nameless was giving paw paw cream a crack today.

Comment by RD6 on May 20, 2012 at 15:43 Anatomically part of your pelvis (the ischial tuberosity, to be exact), the sit bones are quite literally the bones under the flesh of the butt that you sit on the saddle, give it time to mould in on your saddle, it may take a few hundred kms to settle
