I went for a ride with the Cycling for Pleasure Group today.
17 riders departed Victoria Square at the very civilized time of 10 AM
there was a verity of bikes on the ride a tandem and a bikes of many different wheel sizes
It seems the Adelaide cyclists jerseys are everywhere.
Past this strange building with no windows
Morning tea was at a park
During the ride it was asked if a bike Friday is ok to be ridden on other days of the week?
It also came up in conversation is having a heavy battery on your bike a handicap?
We wandered up the dry creek linear park and eventually found our way to the park opposite tea tree plaza for lunch
A few of the rises were a bit steep and gravelly
but most were flat
After lunch we joined a bike path near the Hope Valley reservoir
and found our way back to town via the Torren's Linear Park
Certainty it was an interested ride with a friendly group of people.
And there were places I didn't even know existed.
I did just over 60 Km for the day in about four and a half hours so it was a gentle pace.
I would think these rides would suit enthusiastic beginners who don't have a road bike.
The details are on strava
Cycling for Pleasure Group have a web site
Comment by Pete (repeats ?) Roberts on April 16, 2012 at 0:16 I have ridden many rides with Cycle for Pleasure Group, until the 'Speed Bug' hit me.
CPG, are a great bunch of people, and have a rich history of cycling behind them.
In fact, Our Great leader (Gus (Special K) now rides one of their founder members bikes, see LINK
One day, I must ride by and say Hello again.
Comment by Brian Jenkins (BJ) on April 16, 2012 at 1:55 Was that the big albino armadillo?
Comment by Don (Who's lost?) Nairn on April 16, 2012 at 1:59 it may be
The big armadillo is more fun on the inside than the outside :)
