Today I followed up on my BikeSA maintenance course and tackled changing a tube... chose the back wheel because it's trickier (I figure Mr Murphy will ensure my first flat is on the back if I don't know what to do!).  Chris supervised and provided the extra instruction required.  I managed to get the tire off and back on without tyre levers, pretty happy with that.  Even got the tyre back up to a reasonable pressure using the hand…

My new knicks from Ground Effect www.groundeffect.co.nz arrived today.  They are womens specific, called 'Witches Britches'.  I was a bit doubtful about sizing, but they seem to stretch pretty well :o)  Meant for winter they are 3/4 length (more like 5/8 on me) and the lycra is really soft on the inside (brushed) and matte on the outside,  Got them in the wash, looking forward to trying them out!  Also got Chris a merino singlet base layer, that is… Continue
