State Governements road safety strategy

Gidday fellow cyclistsThe State government are holding a series of town hall workshops around the state to gather ideas on lowering the road toll  and road safety in general.I attended the one in Port Lincoln the other night. I was disappointed that on the usual banners and guff that seem to be part and parcel of these things that the supporting and named parties did not include one that represented cyclists.Surely if the RAA can represent cars. That one of the three cycling organisations in the…See More

Jeff, I recall you posting that Port Lincoln Council is not cyclist-friendly. I started group Vote For Cyclists, so quickly looked at profiles of candidates for any who supported cycling, the environment or sustainability, with the aim to invite them to join and post on Vote For Cyclists. There is one candidate who proposed to solve car parking problems by allowing parking on footpaths! Travis Rogers sounds good, so I emailed him tonight (after I phoned for his email address). I suggest that you go to Vote For Cyclists for the LGA website, look for area of Port Lincoln, then check out the candidates. You could also phone Travis.

Hi,

Thanks for posting all of your photos. Very inspiring. I think we should try and get you on the podcast to talk about touring.

I am also guessing you invited some fellow Port Lincoln cyclists, You are welcome to start a sub group for Port Lincoln cyclists or your club if you like -- or just really dominate the existing Touring group that exists. I can tell you from the stats that people who come to this site often google 'cycle touring'

Cheers
Angus

Thanks Jim
I only wish I could figure out some way to do it full time like some of the expedition tourers on Crazyguyonabike. Alas work, money and family have me restricted to one four to six week tour a year.
