I have a Van Nicholas Chinook frame, with Athena 11 sp carbon compact, Fulcrum 5 rims, weighs in at 8kgs. I've had it for 8 months and it's a beauty. My previous bike was carbon and rather skittish when cornering, this bike hugs the road and I've had to slow myself down on descents as it can be ridden without boundaries it seems. Over rough roads it does indeed soak up the shock (Green Hills Rd.) and is simply a joy to ride.
Went to my shed Sunday morning to pump the tyres for the VeloAdelaide ride and there was no bike, stuff strewn around the floor and no louvres in the window. Lost tools also, but he left a beautiful boot print on the stool he used to leave, the police loved it! It was a targeted theft.
