Well today proved as challenging as promised out at the Range, where many AC members attended and raced. Just wondering how you all went. I know Dianne won a silver medal, but were there any others…Continue

Bobby an AC regular and myself both missed out on doing the Grand Slam 4 this year due to the flu. Over the subsequent weeks we have compared notes on colour of phlegm and general levels of fatugue. But with the GS5 looming we finally realised to complete the series this week we had better get off our sofas and hit the road. Sadly the day we picked happened to be yesterday with quite a marginal weather forecast.
Still we galantly headed out (after having almost hit the…

To win in the short term or hold out for long term gains??
This weeks AHVCC race was changed from a graded scratch race to a handicap due to low entry numbers. I guess the recent poor weather has dampened many a training session, so after my euphoric win two weeks ago in E grade i was actually handicappped this race and so set off 6 minutes after my usual competition. On the line with me were John Pfitzner who I had so triumphantly beaten in the last race, Phil Davill, Barry…

Today dawned bright and clear for my fourth race event with AHVCC. I excitedly went and picked up AC member Juz who had bravely offered to come and hang out on the side of random roads in the freezing hills this Sunday morning to watch me ride. A fabulous support for me cos I love an audience and as it transpired a useful addition to the timing crew (there is always a shortage of volunteers to man the stopwatches!). Fortunately, as I was running late she had her tea all pre-prepared to come…

Today dawned bright and sunny and I couldn't believe my luck. Simon (my husband) had levered himself out of bed to come and stand on the side of a freezing road for a couple of hours, just to watch me whizz past 3 times. I am reminded that it is only because he loves me and that for no other reason would he even consider doing such a ludicrous thing especially on a Sunday! This meant I felt a lot of pressure to make sure that I didn't waste his time and put in a strong…
ContinueHi Sarah,
Now i know who VOD is!! Dont worry about anyone missing out it will be cool. I am on the central districts cc committee, our goal is to try to offer some low cost eventing for people & introduce them to the club. Trying to boost membership & the likes. Very hard to attract new members, a lot of people just gravitate to port adelaide because that is where the action is.
Good luck with the regatta & will have a chat sometime, I have had very little time to race with the hills vets. When i can there is no racing & up until recently haven't been fit enough to race any opens.
If you hear of anyone intersted in Cyclo's now or in the future I would love to have a chat with them. Just pass on my number.
Hi VOD, Are you interested in a ride in the cyclo?
Gus K said… Oh I see.. got it. I'll link it again to some words... nice.
Gus K said… Hi Sarah, Where and when is the lecture? thanks for sharing, people are interested in things like this.
Peter Hill said… Hi Sarah
that 10k's up the hill from Mt Pleasant was a bit unpleasant, but yeah, the ride was great, I really enjoyed it. Still a bit of muscle stiffness today.
I amazed at the amout of energy and enthusiasm you have. It is pretty infectious. I'm trying to start getting into the mental frame of mind for the 200km GS ride. I'll try to start thinking like velo dame.
