Gemma has kindly offered to put on a wheel building clinic. The original wheels I got with my Apollo have nice rims and hubs, but the spokes were showing their age.
Enter the issue with rebuilding them for the Apollo. The Apollo was a 14 speed bike, with an old style cluster, the last sprocket screws to the outside of the freewheel. Work has begun in earnest to prepare my Apollo for blasting and respray. Only thing left to do is remove the bearing cups from the headset, and off to the blasters for paint removal.

Backed up Fridy's efforts with another 89km today, cut short by Colin trying to nudge the earth out of orbit with his shoulder. Lucky it was only a broken collarbone, large 4wd was watching the road and stopped. No less than 3 motorists offered assistance.
193 total for the long weekend, feeling a little sore today, but did try a couple of sprints from largs to outer harbour (both ways)

I don't want to cause a problem with space on your offer of a ride - the others got in first.
I don't want to inconvenience anybody or make them dismantle their bikes too much.
I was going there with another AC and I think he thinks we are riding back afterwards...I don't think so somehow. I think that would make it too much. I must double check on his meaning, but I seriously must get a ride from someone, I think so any way. I can pay petrol cost to whoever I ride with. I didn't sign up for the transport because I have a rather expensive bike and I have heard that they just have pieces of cardboard in between.

Would love to see those destructions! I'm fairly sure the limit screws are not the problem if the shop mechanics have checked them 5 times and I've double checked, but more knowledge is always good. I'm laying bets on a damaged cable at this stage. If I ask for a cable replacement then they will have to perform the full adjustment sequence from scratch. Might be the best option at this stage before I throw the bike away!
