Winter Solstice Ride 2014 at Tower Hotel carprak

June 21, 2014 from 6:30pm to 9pm
The winter solstice happens at around 830pm on Saturday June 21 this year. Instead of running naked around some Pagan standing stones in the middle of a freezing Adelaide winter's night, I'm planning on riding to Mt Lofty via Norton Summit to sacrifice a few goats* and hopefully watch the earth's axis start tilting up again bringing longer days and warmer cycling weather. BYO Coffee/nibbles at the summit before a quick descent down the Old Freeway. Departing the Tower Hotel on Magill Rd at…See More

An inspiring story from Melbourne - the creation of Elsie

Posted on April 22, 2012 at 20:00 7 Comments

When I travelled to Melbourne to begin my ride back to Adelaide earlier this year, stayed with Margot and Alex who are some friends I had ridden with before when they were living in Adelaide. At the time Margot had a bright pink steel bike frame sitting on her desk....the beginnings of her first major bike project... now she has completed it and ridden it... Elsie is her pride and joy. This is Margot's story which just had to be shared, and with her permission I have reposted her story on…

Hi Rob,

On 18-Jun-2012 you posted at http://www.adelaidecyclists.com/forum/topics/bollards
Hopefully Tuesday night I will get a photo of a really dangerous bollard or a missing one which has been cut off leaving a 2inch stump above ground....ouch to anyone that hits it :(

Do you have a photo? Is it in the West Torrens Council area?

Cheers, Heather
