"Belgian up" Winter Beer Run. at Magill-Lobethal-Thebarton

July 1, 2012 from 9:30am to 2:30pm
The day after the Tour de France kicks off in Belgium I will be riding out to the Lobethal Bierhaus to celebrate, if anyone wants to join me in potentially getting very wet and cold you are most welcome. My idea is that I will meet any potential fellow victims at the Tower Hotel at Magill at 9:30 am on July 1st and then make our way to Lobethal for a well earned pint (coffee if you are soft) and a bite. Then head back to the Wheatsheaf Hotel in Thebarton for another well earned pint at the…See More

SDVLCC race 3

Posted on March 18, 2012 at 11:30 18 Comments

After getting lost on my first race and finishing last on my second it was with a bit of trepidation that I went back for number 3.

The route started off with a climb up Moritz Rd, which is where I got dropped last week and then four laps(for my group Div 2) of a loop  around Schuller and Brookmans Rds…

My come 'n try race DNF :(

Posted on February 26, 2012 at 12:00 21 Comments

After my first attempt at a Come'nTry race was washed out two weeks ago I decided to have another go this morning, fortunately the forecast temp was below 38C (just) and the race was on. I woke up early and had brekky and a large glass of water and took a spare bidon to drink on the way down so as to be well hydrated at the start and arrievd nice and early to register and set up the bike.

I got my number and had to pin it on backwards to show I was part of the race but  not an…

Time to put the bike away ??

Posted on December 4, 2011 at 16:30 30 Comments

At the start of this year I set a couple of cycling goals, the first was to ride all five Grand Slams which I did, well almost. I missed a turn in GS4 and shortened the route be about 5kms and fell and wrote off the bike on GS4 and missed the last 10kms or so. Close enough for me to tick off that particular goal.

The other goal was to ride 6666kms for the calendar year which I passed this morning. I needed to ride 78 kms today and with the CVSA ride plus the ride there and back I rode…

Amy's Ride be careful on wickhams

Posted on October 30, 2011 at 10:07 13 Comments

Just a warning to be careful descending Wickhams next week. I went up the hill today and as I turned onto Wickhams Hill Rd at about 25kph I had to really back off on the turn due to the amount of loose gravel;/stones etc. on the junction. It could be very hairy flying down the hill next week and leaning over into the turn onto Mclaren Flat Rd and losing traction.

It was also very blustery along the range this morning, difficult to hold a steady line at times so watch for that as…

Hi Pat,

We just got jerseys made up for our Tuesday/Friday group from http://www.cheap-cycling.com/store/designer, and they have templates for jerseys and knicks. It is about a month turnaround after the design is finalized.

cheers Adam

So what you are saying is that 16 Great Eastern Ave is empty from 7.11 0 10.30am on a Saturday... or at least the man of the house is not home?!!

Good idea for a group. Some folk as you are aware are really into this stuff. I use a Nokia Sports Tracker. Perhaps a bit more lo-fi than a Garmin.

If you need some info on how a group works let me know. The text box is yours to do whatever you want with. Information on the devices and links to discussions might be good.

Cheers
Angus
