Tyres for free

Started this discussion. Last reply by Gus K Oct 30, 2010. 7 Replies

I remember some one posting about picking up old tyres for use. If anyone's interested I have a few old tyres that I'm willing to give away. Reasonable tread on a few.

I've used my bike as my main form of transport since I can remember. I love MTBing. Got into it about 5 years ago after a mate convinced me to trade up from a hand me down road bike i used for transport to my first MTB (Ironhorse Warrior). From that point on, there was no looking back. I'm looking at getting into racing road bikes. Cycling also got me into triathlons (tinmans so far). I believe the rough road is the best road.

I'm aware that the federal government sponsors major national highways/freeways. But the claims of motorists for cyclists to pay registration fees so they are 'entitled' to our right to ride on roads just seems flawed. Firstly, I can't see that the cost of maintaining and developing roads can be solely funded by registration fees…
