I might be well out of order - but are we a group that is going to allow advertising access to this site for nothing more than promoting a company's commercial interests. Perhaps something more along the lines of an overall sponsorship of adelaide c…

Do you think there is a slim possibility that the accident might have actually been an 'accident'. I am not sure that we do ourselves any favours as cyclists by being constantly negative and always the victim. If we realise that the explosion of bik…

In response to a number of requests, time to go for a coffee run along the Linear Park/Coast Park! My thought is meet at Elder Park, roll out along the Linear Park to Henley Beach, then along Coast Park to the West Beach Surflifesaving Club for a co…

Mike, I've got a Long Haul Trucker with Alex Adventurer rims running 700 x 35 Schwalbe Marathon Supremes. Assuming you have the standard Alex DA16 rims on your Cross Check your rims are 2mm narrower than mine. I see no reason why 35mm tyres would no…

Hi Mike I am running Schwalbe Marathons 700 x 35 (kevlar belted) on Araya 700 PX-45 rims on my Avanti touring bike. While not identical to the Surlys set-up by any means, these are excellent wheels with a really good tyre on them. Hard wearing, no f…

I have a Surly Cross Check which comes out of the box with a 700 x 32 tyre. Whilst it is a reasonable tyre I am looking to upgrade to a Schwalbe tyre which I have only been able to find in 35mm. The LBS sales guy said it would be fine on the rim but…

I jumped on it briefly heading out from Woodside towards Oakbank.. Bikeway was very rough on the roadie, full of curves (with nice fences and little bridges), dodged some horse poo and came across lots of give way signs for driveways and roads. Ende…

Tyre Size

I have a Surly Cross Check which comes out of the box with a 700 x 32 tyre. Whilst it is a reasonable tyre I am looking to upgrade to a Schwalbe tyre which I have only been able to find in 35mm. The LBS sales guy said it would be fine on the rim but I would like to have some confirmation of that as they are certainly not cheap.
I would appreciate the advice from those in the group

Amy Gillett Bikeway

The first stage of the Amy Gillett Bikeway was opened opened on 23/1/10 - the initial stage is from Oakbank - Woodside, but will eventually run to Mt Pleasant
There doesn't seem to be much detail available yet, but I wonder if anyone has yet ridden it.
