As I was nearly run off the road by an articulated bus overtaking me on Friday afternoon I wanted to complain to Adelaide Metro about it. Nothing obvious on the web site so I complained about that…Continue
"I hadn't noticed the footpath before, although I had noticed that the shared path did a right turn at the SOB and headed towards the bridge. I can't recall that at any of the other bridges. Like you I have no idea why a pedestrian would be…"
"I've not approached the SOB from Womma Road and so I'd never noticed that sign before. I probably should have gone to look at the signs in the slip roads to see if they had just cocked up which one they placed on Womma Road. The placement…"
"The bridge at Womma and Heaslip Roads has a footpath on the northern side and a bike lane over the bridge on both sides. What it doesn't do well is the bit between the roundabout and the bridge. Not so much a problem on the end next to the SOB…"
"Pedestrians and cyclists should be permitted on the bridge, it crosses the Expressway but it's part of it. As for need that would depend on where you need to go :-) You don't need to use it to use the SOB but if you wanted go to Angle Vale…"
"On today's ride I also approached the Womma/Heaslip roundabout from the SOB and here are some photos.
First of all one on the approach. The road to the right is the slip road from the Expressway. Also note that the bikeway turns towards it on…"
"I rode up Curtis to the SOB today and the problems that I saw are:
1. The shared path just stops around a tree just short of Andrews Road. There is a lot of litter caused by the tree that the path goes around but the bigger problem is that the path…"
"It's not on the roundabout but it's very close to it, especially given the size of the roundabout and the way they have "designed" the slip roads.
A footbridge wouldn't be practical since the roundabout is there to control…"
"You've got to wonder how much investigation actually happened. The response to John's suggestion is pretty poor. It's not as if they are constrained for room to either make the road wider to accommodate widening the refuge island or…"
"Camera off is a relative term. I suspect in this case the GPS is being powered so it can track your movement, ie like Strava on a phone, but the camera functionality is off. Yes the GPS will suck power more than the camera hence their recommendation…"
"I think that is perhaps the advantage of the local camera shop. You can try the camera to see how fast it reacts. Based on your experience and mine I suspect that the GPS in compact cameras is not exactly fast. In that case then perhaps a camera…"
"I would suggest that maybe the Landmark info is less than ideal but if the GPS info is correct then you should be OK. I just went outside with my Canon S100 and it took what seemed like an age to find enough satellites to make it happy (certainly…"
"The GPS satellites only deal with UTC, it's the camera converting to a "local" time. I have no experience with the Panasonic but it might not be doing this based on the location but a menu setting, ie it's no tracking your…"
Cool. As I said it'd be a good idea to switch off following discussions via the link at the bottom of each discussion so if you comment on a GW post then switch it Follow Off and next time you are online you can see any follow-ups at your leisure. You can also switch off emails from groups. Or the daily digest might be for you.
Hi Mark. I understand your point, you are intrigued to see what someone commented but you don't want to waste a click just to see someone only wrote lol!
The main thing for me is I don't actually write the webpage code, it's a developer company. I'm sure it's not hard but they haven't done it.
WhA you can do it check your email settings and switch off some like the one that sends you an email if there is a comment on a post you also commented on. Or you can click unfollow at the bottom of posts. You can also just get an email digest once a day.
