"Great visualisations. Thanks for sharing. I'd love to see something like that in Adelaide. Poor Sydneysiders, I don't know how they cope with those 8 degree mornings in July."

Rideable winter visualisation June 4th 2013

A fun experiment to see how Sydney cyclists ride to work in the winter. Winter can be tough - but in Sydney we're pretty lucky. Can factors like daylight savings, colder weather, rain and darker mornings affect peoples route decisions and…

Pleased to see you enjoying yourself in Barmera. Nice quiet place to ride. But your right not many hills. Those magpies have been there for years, I go a different way to avoid them.

Hello Gus,

Firstly thanks for building such an awesome community. Whilst it doesn't show it from my limited posts, the Adelaide Cyclist website is one of my favourite cycling specific websites. Its great to meet, albeit briefly the creator.

Also thanks for the tips and kind encouragements. I'm taking your advice on board and will be intending to ride as much hills as time permits so I can be in shape for the 2nd edition of the "bakers dozen".

Cya out there on the road.

Why should you get professional cycling coaching?

Cricket and footy teams have a coach to watch them play and golf clubs have a resident pro who helps player’s swing and approach to the game so why shouldn’t cyclists who are serious about improving their riding, keeping up with their mates or perhaps the occasional race, have a coach?

Forgive me, it's been 9 months since I last blogged.

Since that time, and through winter, I took a good look at my cycling and fitness. I began, and some of you remember and joined in, the 5 kg challenge. Others lost 5kgs or more kilos but I only made a small dent in my last 5gks. It was very obvious, however, that any weight-loss results in increased climbing…

Colin Freestone and Cycle Indonesia are taking bookings again for their North Sulawesi cycle tour this May.

Colin has been cycling in Indonesia since 1995. Beginning 2009 when his touring business began he's led many trips with 80+ riders on Sulawesi, which is that spidery shaped Indonesian island north of Bali and east of Borneo. Most of the riders are 50+ and 40% are women. Over the years…
