Two Iconic Hills - Corkscrew & Checkers at Mobil service station

May 11, 2013 from 7:30am to 3pm
Get a big ride done on Sat 11th so you can take the next day (Mothers Day) off from riding, and do something with your Mother!I'm going to take you on a 167 km  route with 2 serious hills thrown in - notably Corkscrew Rd, and Checker Hill Rd (also the Gawler to One Tree Hill Rd).Expect to stop for lunch at Williamstown (after 90km) and get back to the start point (167km) by about 2.30pm.  Will re-group at the top of each hill.See More

Wicked Ride up Wickhams Hill Rd - afternoon loop at Cafe Buongiorno

February 9, 2013 from 1pm to 7pm
This is a 126km training ride, with a few hills thrown in to make it interesting.  It is part of my buildup to the Three Peaks Challenge in Victoria on 10 March, but I am hoping to have a few hardy souls to ride with me.  The emphasis is on endurance, not speed, so I am happy to regroup at the top of hills.  Feel free to join me for lunch at Cafe Buongiorno before the ride commences.  I will be eating there from about 12.30 after doing the same 126k loop in the morning (see separate event).See More

G Ward commented on Shane Sody's event 'Endurance climbing: 65km 131km, or 196km options'
"Looking at your route, St Georges Bakehouse being at the end of each loop is a very convenient choice for something quick to refuel you, and their product is good (award winning too). The route looks interesting, just not sure about doing Knotts…"

G Ward commented on Andrew M's event 'Stuart O'Grady Bikeway Ride, WEEK 27: SOBR TUESDAY, 15 May'
"If I do attend, I'd be very unlikely to join at Gawler - more likely southern end, or possibly part way up (Penfield or Womma ?). "
