Comparing elite endurance athletes such as cyclists

http://goo.gl/TG8OHElite Australian under-23 road cyclists have exceptionally high VO2 max scores, ranging between 70-80 ml O2/kg/min. This means that at maximal exercise, cyclists are more efficient at supplying energy aerobically – ideal for a continuous endurance sport. So while a tennis player’s endurance is important,…See More

"Thanks Gus. I am trying to get an accurate measure of the distance ridden (& the elevation gain). Yes I want to patch up my Km tally. Regarding Strava Android app, I paused it at 110kms for a coffee break. I resumed the app, checked that it had…"

"RideWithGPS.com is much better. So much less cluttered. But how can a created route be uploaded to Strava if you did actually ride it. I mean I know you can manually upload but ate you just trying to patch a ride up for the km tally?"

Strava - workaround for failure to record route taken

Today my bike computer showed 167.3kms ridden today. Strava (Android) recorded 110kms of that distance. In the past, I have used MapMyRide to create a route, exported it as a gpx file and tried to upload it to Strava. That method fails. I lodged an enquiry with Strava support. They said the MapMyRide gpx was not in the format expected. Can somebody suggest an alternative to MapMyRide that could make it possible to mark up a route on my computer for output as a gpx file that Strava will recognize?See More

"If you use a GPX file you lose the HRM data but TCX works fine. if you get the Bryton 20 the USB cable is delicate and you need to treat it gently."

Bryton GPS: compatibility with Strava?

I've got a Bryton GPS device on my wish list (price advantage is main factor). The Bryton Sports website states that there is a manual workaround for uploading data to Strava. There is no app for Strava such as exists for Garmin. Anybody have experience with Bryton connectivity to Strava (albeit manual upload of .TCX file)? Work ok? Completely? Partially? Not at all?See More

Can anybody comment on or guide me to information on how best to do a steep descent (e.g. Wickhams Hill Road, Willunga)?

Hi and welcome to Adelaide Cyclists.

We're a growing community of bike nuts. You can post discussion on the main page wall, maintain your own blog, post pics and videos and create events to invite others to. Groups are a sort of niche interest area - join existing ones or start your own.

From time to time we send out emails to all members. You can set preferences from your page. You can also design your own page as you like.

Please tell your cycling friends to stop by and join as well.

Cheers
