57kg? Be careful on some of the descents then brother, there are the occasional cross winds that could knock a feller for 6! I've clocked up to 89.7 before and got the dreaded death wobbles, but fought back and got control. Sworn ever since then not…

I am sure the bride will love her new Cannondale which happens to fit you

No wonder you have to descend, at 57kgs you could climb a wall on your bike. Well done on the weight loss. You deserve a Synapse!

Bert will look after ya, he`s a mate of mine. He watched me wittle away a heap of weight a couple of years ago riding past his shop daily on a fixed gear and later a roadie, sometimes on my hybrid with dog in trailer. Cannondale Synapse looks a nice…

My addiction to cycling is very recent. Did the 100km Amy's ride on my old mountain bike with my little sister .. she had her own bike actually. It was a weight loss exercise opportunity back then (burnt about 3,500 calories from memory). Have now g…

Too right it`s serious! I`m that bu%$8#d after climbing any hill I just shut me eyes and hang on goin` down and when I get home the computer tells me that somewhere on the ride my max was 83km/ph haha... I`m a learner just back into it and have`nt d…

On the first podcast the minister for transport Patrick Conlan gave some excellent advise that the old expressway from Crafers back down is great for learning to descend. I concur.

Perhaps a social training ride with the helpful friendly southern vets and ladies cycling club ... these guys often ride Wickhams, Pennys hill willunga etc. You could find them at koffee`n` snacks on a tuesday or thursday morning at Mc claren vale a…

Can anybody comment on or guide me to information on how best to do a steep descent (e.g. Wickhams Hill Road, Willunga)?

I agree with you Carla about the TDU organisation. As a Seniors card-holding newcomer to this caper, my first ride was the 100kms version of Amy's ride on my old clunker of a mountain bike ($300 was lot of money in 1998) with my little non-Seniors c…

Hi and welcome to Adelaide Cyclists.

We're a growing community of bike nuts. You can post discussion on the main page wall, maintain your own blog, post pics and videos and create events to invite others to. Groups are a sort of niche interest area - join existing ones or start your own.

From time to time we send out emails to all members. You can set preferences from your page. You can also design your own page as you like.

Please tell your cycling friends to stop by and join as well.

Cheers
Angus
