For the past 10 or so years, I have been riding a road bike. Initially it started out as smallish rides of 20-30km, then hills were introduced. Longer rides then started to feature on my schedule, along with a bit more frequent riding during the week. After reading Peter's post about his "holiday from cycling", I felt compelled to share one of my reasons for my own small break from the bike every now and then.
For a few different reasons, I have not been able to ride this weekend. Coming down with the flu has not helped and the weather has not exactly been conducive to going for a good spin, but regardless of these issues, I may have struggled a little bit if I was on the saddle anyway.

This is the recipe I use for making banana cake on a fairly regular basis. Its extremely easy and gives good results, which makes it perfect for us guys who are a bit fearful of treading into the kitchen to have a stab at baking!

125g of butter
3/4 cup caster sugar
